The hotel felt stuck in the 90s, with outdated decor and a strong sewer smell that was hard to ignore. My bathroom had mold, and I even found remnants of food from the previous guest. Super disappointing overall.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Numazu River Side Hotel during a business trip, as chosen by my director. it was a genuinely great experience! The hotel also features complimentary bicycles, which I enjoyed using to explore the charming local streets and the nearby beach. Speaking of the beach, it’s the longest in Japan and within walking distance; I can't recommend enough that you catch the sunset over Mt. Fuji from there—what a sight! Breakfast was a delight as well, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients serving a variety of delicious options. I also appreciated the helpful staff, including an English-speaking lady who made check-in smooth despite my limited Japanese.
Room felt outdated and humid.

My room was large and included central heating, multi-channel television, and a refrigerator. Liked view of the sea. Location in the center of the city was a plus. There were plenty of restaurants to eat, like Uobun that was only 5 minutes' walk away.

I really enjoyed the cozy and elegant decoration of the hotel's common areas. The soft lighting and comfortable seating made me feel right at home. As a senior woman, I appreciated the accessible features such as the wide hallways and clearly marked signage throughout the hotel. It made it easier for me to navigate around.
I wish the hotel had more amenities specifically designed for senior guests. It would have been nice to have handrails or grab bars in the bathrooms and elevators, as well as brighter lighting in the hallways.

I stayed at Numazu Riverside Hotel for a few nights during my trip to Japan. The location was perfect, right in the center of amazing Numazu. The views from the room, either of the ocean or Mt. Fuji, were stunning. The hotel had plenty of additional facilities available, including a charming old market street right next to it. Parking in the basement was also convenient. The staff was helpful and there was even an English-speaking staff member. The room had all the necessary amenities and the hotel was well-maintained.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.
